“ Daoud Basha “

Ingredients:

For rice:

-      2 cups rice

-      3 cups water

-      1 tsp. salt

-      2 tbs. AlREEEF Oil

For Kafta:

-      400g kafta

-       3 tbs. AlREEEF Oil

-      1 large onion, cut into slices

-      2 cloves of garlic, crushed

-      1 green bell pepper

-      4 large tomatoes, grated

-      2 tbs. tomato paste

-      ¼ cup vinegar

-      1 cup water

-      ½ tsp. salt

-      ¼ tsp. black pepper

-      ¼ tsp. cumin

Serve with:

-      Bread, Fried

-      Pine, Fried

-      Parsley

Direction:

1-    Wash rice and soak in water for 15 minutes.

2-     In a saucepan, put water, salt and AlREEEF Oil. When water starts to boil, Add rice and cook for 15 minutes on low heat.

3-    Shape kafta mixture into meatballs.

4-    In a pan, heat AlREEEF Oil and add kafta meatballs over oil. Simmer until fried. Take meatballs out of the pan and keep aside.

5-    In the same pan, add onions, garlic, bell pepper and sauté for several minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, vinegar, water, cumin, salt and black pepper. Mix and let sauce on medium heat for 5 minutes until smooth and slightly.

6-     Add kafta over sauce and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.

7-    In a deep dish, place some of bread then some sauce, add over them half the amount of rice. Then add some sauce and kafta. Repeat for the remaining and place bread around the dish.

8-    Garnish with pine and parsley
